Samsung’s iPod touch rival, the Galaxy Player hasn’t really made the waves that it intended to, but the Korean company isn’t one to fail. The Android-powered Galaxy Player has been confirmed that it will be showcased next week at CES 2011 and the inspiration for this device obviously comes from Samsung’s successful Galaxy S phone. The device features a model number of YP-GB1 and is powered by Android 2.2 Froyo, along with a 1GHz processor and features a 4-inch 800 x 480 pixel Super Clear LCD display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, HD video playback, microSD card support, 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera and also a front-facing camera for video calls. Will it challenge the iPod touch? Based on raw specifications, it certainly does seem to have to credentials.
