We have our hands on the Cr-48 Chrome Notebook from Google and here are the unboxing. As you might have seen during our live coverage of the announcement, the Cr-48 is completely black and unbranded. Even the Google Logo isn’t there. The whole laptop has a “leathery” plastic surface that is often found on smartphones. A couple of good surprises upon opening it: the keyboard feels good and the CAPS LOCK key has been replaced by a “Search” key (lol, we’ll see if this becomes a standard :) . Secondly, the trackpad is smooth and relatively large (not as large as Apple’s). Finally, the setup does take less than one minute as it is mainly selecting a network and login in. If you have missed the specifications, go to our previous Cr-48 post. At the moment, it’s too early to tell what the user experience is, but we’ll get back to you on that. It is said that more than 60,000 units are being produced right now.
