If you’re shopping around for a green automobile, you’ll probably want to know that a good 350 Chevy Volt electric cars have rolled out of the company’s assembly plant and are currently making their way to eager buyers over in New York, California, Texas and Washington, D.C. The vehicle will set you back $41,000, though you’ll also get a $7,500 tax credit, lowering the price to $33,500, similar to the price of hybrid car competitors. A national rollout of the Volt will begin 18 months from now and GM claims that the car can travel about 35 miles on battery power before the gasoline-fueled generator kicks in. A GM executive said that there will be just 60,000 of these cars built in 2012, so if you’re thinking of getting one, you might want to do so soon.
