Developers who have created the ChevronWP7 jailbreak solution for Windows Phone 7 had gone on to voluntarily pull the jailbreaking utility. The hackers said that they were reached out by Microsoft’s Brandon Watson, who says that the company will work with them in ensuring that official homebrew apps can be loaded onto Windows Phone 7 handsets that would otherwise not appear on the Windows Phone Marketplace app store. Removing ChevronWP7, developers say, help to ease the deal with Microsoft. It’s good to see Microsoft being open to homebrew apps, much in the same way that Palm is with its webOS platform and contrary to Apple’s stance.
