Viewsonic intends to make the most out of their tablet devices with the Viewpad 7 and Viewpad 10 more than ready to hit the market in the US. Needless to say, the number at the end of the model name depicts the screen size, where the Viewpad 7 will sport a 7-inch capacitive multi-touch display, Android 2.2 as the operating system of choice, front and back cameras, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, 512 MB of internal memory that can be augmented by a microSD memory card slot. While it will be preloaded with the Kobo reading application, this isn’t an ebook reader first and foremost. You can enjoy Angry Birds on the Viewpad 7 though as it will play nice with apps from the Android Market. As for the Viewpad 10, you can read about it in the extended post.
The larger Viewpad 10 will be able to dual-boot Windows 7 Home Premium and Android 1.6 – that means no Angry Birds, eh? On the other hand, at least you can use some of your favorite Windows applications such as Outlook, while relying on Android for a more tablet-friendly experience. The 10-inch multi-touch display will feature a 1024 x 600 resolution, accompanied by a 16GB SSD, and a 1.66GHz processor. The Viewpad 7 will retail for $479, while the more business-centric Viewpad 10 is going for $629 from early 2011 onwards.
