The Apple iPhone will soon be offered for sale at Target stores. Apple has had partnerships with retailer WalMart and electronics big box retailer Best Buy for some time now, and on November 7th, Target will join the fray with the addition of some 846 Target stores across the U.S. The move by Apple to offer its flagship phone model in Target will help the company expand its reach beyond metropolitan areas where Apple has a strong retail presence with the company’s own retail stores. In addition to offering the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 3GS at its stores, Target is also boasting its Electronics Trade-In service, which allows customers to bring in old MP3 players, cell phones, and video games and get credit for any purchase at Target, including the new iPhone 4 offering. Target says that it hopes to offer mobile services at all its stores by mid-2011.
