The Galaxy Tab has launched internationally with a rather large 7-inch screen with a larger resolution than the traditional WVGA, VGA, QVGA, or WQVGA screens of most Android smartphone. Hence, with its non-traditional screen resolution, Samsung has warned thatn some apps may not scale all the way up to take advantage of the entire 7 inches of display, but there’s an app on Android Market that will help tpo force apps that don’t take up the full screen to go into full screen mode. That app is called Spare Parts–Galaxy Tab owners can go into Android Market and search for that term–and will allow apps to take advantage of the entire useable display.
The downside is that the app does take several reboots to be properly configured, but that’s a one time ordeal. JKK Mobile, advises these steps:
- Download Spare Parts from Android Market and go through the instlalation process, which should begin automatically after the app has been downloaded.
- Launch the app by opening it. Scroll to “Compability Mode.” JKK Mobile advises to tap on the check box, and then untap it again.
- Then reboot the Galaxy tab.
- Go back into Spare Parts after reboot and go to “Comptability Mode” again and tap it again and then reboot.
- After reboot, your apps should be in full screen.
