Peter Jackson, the key person behind the success of The Lord of the Rings movies, is already gearing up to shoot The Hobbit. While that is great news, the juicy part is some of the equipment that he’ll be using. Reports are in that he will be using thirty expensive RED EPIC cameras. In case you’re wondering what the fuss is about, it’s because these cameras cost about $58,000 a pop, and he’s got thirty of them! When you shell out that kind of cash for the hardware, you’re given goodies such as a titanium mount, 5-inch touchscreen, batteries, solid state storage and some other stuff too. It wasn’t mentioned how much Peter Jackson had to pay for it, but if it means that we’re going to enjoy The Hobbit as much as The Lord of the Rings, then we’re glad he has such hardware.
