Panasonic has come up with a new Parallel Link manufacturing robot that offers some significant benefits to manufacturers. One of the more obvious features would be the 50 percent reduction in power consumption compared to some traditional one-armed manufacturing robots. While the reduction in power consumption is useful, the ability to learn new tasks by having someone move its arm through the motions will be invaluable, since it usually takes dedicated engineering skills and computers to give the robot the correct data in order to execute a task. If you can easily “educate” a robot on what it needs to do, it will certainly make the job easier.
