We already know that the Samsung Galaxy S is one of the best Android-powered smartphones out there part-for-part (especially since it just hit 1.6GHz in an overclocking attempt), but the rumored Google Nexus 2 might actually be an updated Samsung Galaxy S after all, running on Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread while carrying a similar 4-inch Super AMOLED display and Hummingbird processor that currently sees action on the Galaxy S series. While it will be a GSM phone, we don’t know which carrier it will appear on, and neither do we have word on a CDMA variant. One major addition would be that of a Front Facing Camera which is missing in the Samsung Galaxy S, so hopefully Google will do their part and dispel rumors by rolling out an official statement on the status of the Nexus 2.
