Fancy getting a new notebook? Well, you might just be interested in the MSI FX700 and FR700 models, where both of them will share a 17.3-inch display, not to mention a chiclet-style keyboard, a raised multi-touch trackpad as well as what is a relatively rare anti-scratch, anti-smudge coating on the outside. While an Intel Core i5 processor is fairly standard, you can tell the difference between the two in terms of graphical hardware. The FX700 will be equipped with NVIDIA’s GeForce GT 425M discrete video with 1GB of GDDR3 memory, although the FR700 is a lesser model with Intel’s standard GMA HD graphics chipset. A quartet of THX TruStudio Pro certified speakers were thrown into the mix for a surround sound-like experience on-the-go. Apart from that, other hardware specifications include a 720p webcam, a DVD burner, a couple of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports each, 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity and gigabit Ethernet. No idea on pricing or availability just yet though. Will they ever see action Stateside? It is hard to tell, but we will play the waiting game.
