Morgan Computers has just announced what could very well be the cheapest Android-powered tablet in the UK – we’re looking at a £85 price point for 7 inches of touchscreen goodness. Granted, at that price point, you won’t be able to push this to the limit due to rather gimped hardware (relatively speaking, of course) in the form of 128MB RAM, a 400MHz ARM9 VIA8505+ processor, and Android 1.7.4. Yup, you don’t even get Eclair on this, so forget about Froyo for the moment. Other hardware specifications include a 800 x 480, QVGA display, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, a 0.3-megapixel webcam, and H.263 AVI file support. Battery life isn’t encouraging at just 3 hours, so this might end up as a glorified digital photo frame instead.
