Geohot’s iOS 4.1 jailbreak known as Limera1nwill now play nice with Linux platforms in addition to those running on Windows and Mac OS X machines, while Chronic Dev Team’s greenpois0n variant will be able to handle just relevant iDevices connected to a Linux, OS X, or Windows machine. One word of caution before you proceed though – there is still no available working carrier unlock for iOS 4.1, so it is always prudent to back up your baseband before giving either option a go. After all, Murphy’s Law tends to strike when you least expect it, so if life’s plain sailing for you at the moment, you might want to think twice.
