Lensbaby has introduced a new Fisheye lens for DSLR cameras, the Scout. The lens offers a 12mm focal length and is capable of capturing a 160-degree angle of view, offering extreme close-up shots from as little as half an inch from the lens. While many Lensbaby lenses are movable, the Scout is a fixed dual purpose optic system and ships with a Fisheye optic pre-installed, though it can be removed to enable a lens flare effect when pointed directly at bright light sources. It’s also compatible with other lenses in the Lensbaby Optic Swap system range, allowing users to combine lenses to create unique effects and is compatible with cameras from vendors such as Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony and Olympus four-thirds camera. Apparently, DSLR users with full frame sensors will see a black circle around most of the image and APS-S sensor cameras will see black corners in the image. The Lensbaby Scout is currently available for $250.
