We’ve been getting little tidbits of the HTC Merge/Lexikon before this, and now someone has actually managed to get their hands on the phone, giving us a good idea of what to expect from this phone when it’s released. The good news is that if the device reviewed here is what we’ll be getting, that means it will ship with Android 2.2 Froyo out of the box, along with the latest HTC Sense. Other features include a GSM SIM card slot for global roaming, 5-megapixel camera, 720p video recording, 3.7-inch display which is assumed to be a Sony SLCD, and 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The bad news is that Microsoft’s Bing has been tightly integrated into the phone, though you’ll still be able to download Google Maps without any issues. When benchmarked, the HTC Merge was able to perform as fast as, if not faster than the higher-clocked 1GHz Nexus One. Sounds like a phone we’d look forward to.
