DIY: Men Of War Gaming Controller
Don’t think that gaming controllers out there are good enough for you to win at the RTS game Men Of War? You could always attempt to build one of your own, which is what a modder out there did, starting off with a DIY controller with 11 buttons, expanding it over time to include a joystick, countdown timers, and a beautifully lit case. Under the hood of this controller are a couple of PIC microcontrollers multiplexing the switches, LEDs and timers. Surprisingly this item interfaces with the computer via a PS/2 port, but as long as it works, right? The build log is pretty detailed, giving you plenty of information in case you plan on coming up with a similar item yourself.
