We never seem to be able to get enough storage, so it’s good news to hear that Seagate and Western Digital (WD) will soon be releasing their 3TB internal hard drives on the market. While there hasn’t been an official announcement just yet, pictures of said drives have surfaced, dubbed the Seagate Barracuda XT and Western Digital Caviar Green. The Seagate drive will apparently include a 7,200RPM speed, along with a 64MB memory buffer, a 6Gbps SATA interface and average access time of 8.5ms. The WD drive will spin at a slower 5,400RPM and offer a 3Gbps SATA interface, though it offers a similar 64MB of buffer and average access time of 8.9ms. Would a few 3TB drives in your desktop computer be able to offer you enough storage space for all those HD videos of yours?
