Many companies out there are trying to go green, and Walmart is no exception. The retail giant has announced that it will be adding solar panels between 20 and 30 store locations in California and Arizona, building on the 31 stores in California and Hawaii that are already equipped with solar panels. This solar project will generate up to 22.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity a year, enough to power 1,750 homes and each installation will produce about 20 percent to 30 percent of the store’s power usage. Considering the number of Walmart stores that are out there, this is good news for the environment.
