Apple’s iPad is already being adopted by some parties to be used in home automation setups and Samsung has also envisioned a connected future for its home appliances, which does make sense, considering that it already manufactures a vast variety of home appliances. A brief demo of the Galaxy Tab’s Home Watch widget was shown to be able to control a house’s refrigerator, TV, microwave oven, and even vacuum cleaner. The app would allow users to read or watch recipes with the integrated grocery manager, preheat the oven, clean the house, and more. The bad news is that this is currently still at the proof of concept stage and Samsung didn’t give us an exact date as to when we’ll be able to perform such feats with its Galaxy Tab.
