Considering the number of times we’ve caught sight of leaked Windows Phone 7-powered Samsung devices, it’s quite obvious that Samsung has a WP7 device in the pipeline. That being said, it was never officially confirmed, until now, as Simon Stanford, head of mobile at Samsung UK and Ireland confirmed that WP7-based phones will play a key role in Samsung’s plans. Specific devices still weren’t mentioned, but we already know that the Samsung Cetus will be a phone to look forward to. A quote from Simon Stanford reads:
“The addition of Windows Phone 7 devices to Samsung’s smartphone portfolio is a significant milestone. Samsung’s new Windows Phone 7 based smartphones will play a key role in reinforcing Samsung’s leadership in the smartphone market and commitment to providing a range of devices across a variety of platforms”.
