The CDMA iPhone rumors never seem to stop, and next up a report has surfaced that Apple has finalized its supplier choices for its next-generation iPhone and iPad, and Qualcomm has been chosen to build the baseband components for both devices. The report didn’t explicitly state that Qualcomm will be producing CDMA chips for the iPhone, but the fact that the supplier is a dominant force in the CDMA chipset market has led to speculation that a CDMA iPhone might be born. Earlier reports had already claimed that Qualcomm was preparing to churn out millions of iPhone chips, though it wasn’t clear if these chips are related to an updated version of the iPhone 4, or a new iPhone. Will a CDMA iPhone finally arrive and put an end to all this CDMA speculation?
