Olympus E-5 DSLR delivered prematurely

Olympus E-5 DSLR delivered prematurely

Most of the time, a premature delivery comes fraught with its own type of danger, but the slightly earlier release of the Olympus E-5 DSLR is a welcome sight by fans of the DSLR market. AFter all, this 12.3 megapixel shooter will feature a 3-inch dual-axis swiveling LCD display, a TruePic V+ image processor, full-time Live View system, a magnesium alloy body that is not only splash but dustproof as well, 720p movie mode (Motion JPEG) with a 7 minute-per-clip maximum to keep up with the times, as well as in-body mechanical image stabilization and an 11-point auto focus system. To keep things interesting, Olympus also threw in wireless flash control, CompactFlash and Secure Digital (SDHC/SDXC) memory card slots and an ISO range from 100 to 6400. Of course, all those features won’t come cheap, and the price we’re looking at is $1,699.99 just for the body as it is being prepared for an October release Stateside. Time to think carefully before forking out more money for the lens(es), eh?
