JetBlue Airways might be lagging behind its competitors due to the lack of in-flight Internet access, but reports claim that the delay in implementing in-flight Wi-Fi might allow the airline to offer a better service than its competition when it’s finally rolled out. JetBlue is expected to start installing the necessary hardware sometime in mid-2012 and will differ from existing airlines’ methods of providing in-flight Internet access as it will be getting its bandwidth from satellites, instead of hook-ups which are received from the ground. Will it make traveling via JetBlue a more attractive proposition? We’ll probably need to take a closer look at the service when it’s launched in order to tell.
