Garmin nuLink 1695 sheds the nuvi tag

Garmin’s latest GPS navigation system, the nuLink 1695 has dropped the nuvi tag, only to be replaced by nuLink instead. Each purchase will come with a year of connected services for free, where it will cost you $5 monthly after that. The 1695 will be pretty close to the nuvi 1690 when it comes to hardware, but is a wee bit larger physically thanks to its 5-inch WQVGA TFT display. Not only that, it delivers traffic trends that calculates routes based on predicted traffic flow as well as myTrends that predicts routes after studying the user’s navigation behavior. You can place a pre-order for the nuLink 1695 via Amazon, as it will ship on October 1st for $449 a pop.
