Dell has a heart for those on a shoestring budget, which is why they have just announced the availability of the Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 in the US, where it will be powered by a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 processor which is accompanied by a 10.1-inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, 1GB RAM and a 160GB hard drive. Windows 7 Starter Edition is the operating system of choice, but you won’t be able to choose from a high resolution display with this, let alone having the muscle of a Broadcom video accelerator. With all the extras stripped away, the $299.99 price point makes plenty of sense for your cents.
