You might remember the modular phone from Modu that allowed you to change core features of the phone by swapping certain portions of its hardware, and now a concept design has surfaced, dubbed the Modula. Despite it being a concept, the idea is a pretty useful one, allowing the user to change and update the hardware on the device, similar to how we’d tinker and upgrade the components within our DIY computers. Such a design would help us reduce the frequency that we have to upgrade the whole phone, only tweaking minor parts of the hardware depending on our needs. The Modula is equipped with features such as a 16:9 multi-touch display, dual SIM card slots, built-in stereo speakers, and camera.
