SmartDevices aims to make a splash in the growing tablet market with the Android-powered SmartQ V3, where this model will be a whole lot smaller. After all, it has a display which might resemble a smartphone or a touch-based portable media player – we’re talking about a 4.3″ screen with 800 x 480 resolution. No Android 2.2 Froyo here, so you’re stuck with Android 2.1 Eclair if you decide to bring this home, coupled with 256MB memory, a 600MHz ARM11 processor, USB and mini HDMI ports. No idea on whether it will make its way across the world soon, but the SmartQ V3 is tipped to retail for less than a Benjamin in China. We will just have to keep a lookout for this on the FCC site then.
