Owners of the Samsung Vibrant or Captivate from T-Mobile and AT&T respectively might have noticed that the A-GPS on the device wasn’t functioning properly, and many users out there seem to have experienced the same issue. While there are certain workarounds to the situation at the moment, they aren’t ideal, and don’t really solve the issue. While there hasn’t been an official fix for it just yet, there is some consolation as Samsung has released an official statement confirming that they’re aware of the issue that is present on the US version of the Galaxy S devices, and they’re already working on a fix. The bad news is that there isn’t any official release date for the fix, but we’re hoping that it won’t take too long, after all, you wouldn’t want to have an awesome phone crippled by a software bug. The statement reads:
“Samsung Mobile is aware that under certain conditions, the GPS on our U.S. Galaxy S devices may not be meeting performance expectations. We are diligently evaluating the situation and will provide an update as soon as possible.”
