While the NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M has yet to be announced on an official basis, it has apparently leaked out in an ad that featured a 17-inch Asus notebook. Of course, there are different mentions of it running on a DirectX 10 chip, which could imply it as a refreshed 300M processor, whereas others mention DirectX 11 which would rely on a version of the Fermi architecture found in the GTX 480M. Apart from the slew of newer graphics effects that is offered including OpenGL 4.0, Fermi is also a whole lot more capable when it comes to general-purpose computing tasks including CUDA and OpenCL. Well, only time will tell as to whether such leaks will come true or not, so stay tuned!
