Nokia’s CEO believes that their latest Nokia N8 smartphone will save the company, but you can be sure that this ain’t no iPhone equivalent for the Finnish phone manufacturer if you take early reports on the handset into consideration. Folks living in the US will be able to place a pre-order for the N8 for $550, where it is expected to ship from the end of September 2010 onwards – which probably means the smartphone will hit the scene after the Nokia World Event ends on September 15th. This will be the first 12-megapixel toting smartphone from Nokia, offering HD video recording capability, HDMI output as well as 16GB of internal memory. Its display, processing power and operating system won’t be able to hold a candle to the iPhone 4 as well as newer Android smartphones though, especially with Symbian being its albatross around the neck.
