iPhone users who are on the prowl for a new universal remote for their home theater system might want to take note that Gear4’s UnityRemote universal remote control has paid a visit to the FCC, and should be on track for its planned October release date. The UnityRemote app can be installed on your iOS device, which will then communicate with the UnityRemote IR blaster via Bluetooth. The device will be able to send signals in a 360 degree radius, controlling all sorts of AV equipment within sight. If you’ve got your heart set on this, be prepared to shell out $99 for the UnityRemote when it’s released.
