Amazon’s most famous hardware to date is the Kindle e-book reader, but is that all the company is working on in the future? Perhaps not, because when one pays closer attention to the job board for Lab 126, a division of Amazon which is responsible for the Kindle e-reader, there will be a wide range of listings that are related to electronics hardware, including titles such as Supply Chain Project Program Manager, Hardware Engineer and RF Systems Engineer. While these positions will most probably see work on future Kindles, it is also possible to integrate similar hardware specifications like touch screen displays being integrated into other gadgets which are cooking in Amazon’s secret labs perhaps? Needless to say, such new mystery hardware will most probably be a means to an end, that is, opening up new ways to access content on Amazon, including digital books, music and movie rentals as well as purchases.
