A Lenovo executive has stated that the company is planning to drop its slim ThinkPad X301, and is planning to withdraw the ultraportable notebook from at least the Chinese market, possibly by the end of 2010. With the X301 axed, it should be replaced by the newer T410s. The reason for the X301’s demise wasn’t explained, but speculation hints that the T410s did overlap with the X301, and despite not being as slim as the X301, the T410 was capable of outperforming it, and is nearly $1000 cheaper.
