Cassette tapes are getting less and less popular nowadays, but many folks out there still have a large collection of popular songs on tapes. If you don’t want to have to repurchase those songs, you could always pick up the Hideoto, which is a USB tape recording device from the Japanese company Tec. It comes bundled with the Cassette Mate software for Windows, which allows you to record the songs from your cassettes into your computer in MP3/WAV or WMA formats. It’s powered by the USB connection from your computer, or two AA batteries. It’ll be available in Japan next month for $57.
