The issue of a gyroscope wouldn’t have been a big deal a month ago, but now with Apple’s iPhone 4 officially sporting a gyroscope in addition to an accelerometer, you can bet that many folks would expect that to become a common feature in the future. In a recent interview, Microsoft’s Brandon Watson said that Windows Phone 7 won’t support gyroscope functions in earlier devices, but the OS may have it eventually, as he also agreed that it’s a good idea. It was also revealed, during the interview, that the compass API will eventually be a part of Windows Phone 7, though it also won’t be available at launch. Do you think gyroscope support will be an important feature in the future, now that the iPhone 4 offers it, or will it be something that will remain exclusive to the iPhone 4?
