We know that the Samsung N230 will be touching down Stateside, but here’s the kicker – this netbook that could is capable of hitting a magical 13.8 hours of battery life, thanks to its 66Wh 6-cell battery, although those who do not want to carry around something bulkier can always look forward to a lower capacity 32Wh battery that lasts for slightly more than half the number of hours. The battery life is the only outstanding feature, since everything else about the N230 is pretty standard fare, where you can choose between an Intel Atom N450 or N470 processor alongside integrated GMA 3150 graphics. You will find it come with a matte display that is a staple feature on netbooks within the same series. We would have liked to see the N230 ship with an Intel Atom N455 processor at least, since that would mean the machine featuring DDR3 RAM which ought to boost performance by a bit, but we’ll take what we can get at the moment, 1GB RAM, a 250GB hard drive, Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, Wi-Fi N and optional 3G to boot. No idea on what kind of metrics is used to rate the battery life, but whatever it is, 13.8 hours is still more than enough to last you across a trans-Atlantic flight. It should retail for around $400 thereabouts if you’re interested.
