Qualcomm recently shipped its dual core MSM8260 and MSM8660 Snapdragon processors to HTC, which means that we could very well look at the HTC Vision (mockup image above) rolling out in time for the holidays. Both of these are the first dual core Snapdragon processors from Qualcomm, where each enhanced core runs at speeds up to 1.2GHz and are manufactured using the new 45nm process technology for ultra-low power consumption. Apart from that, expect this third generation Snapdragon to boast support for HSPA+ networks, a more powerful GPU, 1080p video encode/decode, and support for 24-bit WXGA 1,280 x 800 resolution displays. Other innovative features that will be ushered in with such high powered processors include a 16-megapixel camera, support for DTS/Dolby 5.1 surround sound as well as integrated Assisted-GPS capability, making us wonder how much better can phones get in the future. Perhaps with the same 3D display as with the Nintendo 3DS?
