Prysm offers laser phosphor display for next generation TVs
Prysm of California has in mind the next generation of TV by introducing its low power consumption laser phosphor display (LPD), where it is capable of displaying in quad HD and 3D HD. This technology will see the use of laser beams bouncing off phosphor pixels that are embedded in displays made out of glass and plastic. The screen is crisp regardless of how large of small the display is, while the ability to use very little power (10% of what a plasma display consumes) works in its favor as well for those who have a penchant for keeping the earth green. There is one major drawback though – LPDs are simply obese when compared to current LCD, LED and plasma displays.
