Panasonic’s Lumix DMC-GH1 is a very capable camera, what with its ability to capture 720p HD video. That being said, it seems that the camera is capable of greater feats, as a hacker named Tester 13 has managed to reverse engineer the GH1’s firmware, unlocking the ability to capture 1080p videos with it. Seems that the new firmware uncovers too many options, and many users out there are trying to figure out to different configurations in order to maximize the quality of the video without misjudging the camera’s buffer limitations. Still, it’s an impressive feat, especially since everybody wants to get on the 1080p video bandwagon nowadays. Check out a sample video after the jump.
