iMovie is an exclusive app for the recently released iPhone 4, but someone managed to take that app and have it run on the older iPhone 3GS instead. One of the motivating factors to pull this stunt off is to verify whether the iPhone 3GS’ hardware is still able to hold its own against the new and improved iPhone 4. To enable this seeming digital ‘miracle’, all you need to do is download iMovie from iTunes, modify the info.plist file and change the Minimum system version to 3.0.0 as well as front-facing-camera section to false. This will in turn enable the app run on any jailbroken iPhone and iPod touch as long as iOS 4 is installed. Good to see the iPhone 3GS still has some legs left…
