Blue has unveiled its second generation Blue Mikey for the iPhone and iPod touch, where this model will boast a 7-angle adjustable design that makes it a snap to pick up a wider array of sounds no matter where you are. There are also 3 different gain levels to play around with, where they are adjustable via a hardware switch. If you want to keep it juiced, a mini-USB port comes in handy, where it lets you charge while recording. The Blue Mikey will play nice with the included digital audio recording software as well, featuring a frequency response of between 35Hz and 20kHz, with the ability to capture 16 bit, 44.1kHz audio. Expect to see it hit the market this August 20th for $99 thereabouts, but iPad and iPhone 4 owners will do well to steer clear of it as it will not work on either. Perhaps a newer model will offer better compatibility?
