It does seem like Long Term Evolution (LTE) will be playing a rather important part in the future, and Verizon has just showed a demonstration of its trial 4G LTE network over in Boston, averaging a comfortable 8.55Mbps download speed and 2.8Mbps upload speeds. A video (after the break) has been released, showing that a 3G connection (for comparison) that only manages to download at a rate of 2.21Mbps. It’s worth noting that LTE has a theoretical limit of 100Mbps, though current tests haven’t come anything close to that just yet. With Verizon expecting to offer commercial 4G LTE services in the winter of 2010, we do hope that their testing goes well, don’t you?
