Samsung 19-inch transparent AMOLED display on parade
Samsung goes one up on their 14″ transparent AMOLED notebook that was displayed at CES 2010 earlier this year, where the company now has a 19″ transparent AMOLED display at SID 2010 instead. By virtue of its size, it is the largest transparent AMOLED display in the world, boasting a transparency level of 30% with the company ready to roll out displays that are as large as 40″, although we don’t know how far into the future that will be. Samsung has hopes that transparent AMOLED displays will soon see action in future vehicle windscreens or even as an advertising platform at malls, although we think the former is by far more practical and cooler.
