The folks over at Engadget has taken the Kiwi Choice U-Powered USB Portable Solar Charger for a short spin, and to nick off their viewpoints on it, here they are. This device will fold out into a tri-pointed design, offering three solar panels that are more than willing to catch sunlight as a charge inside. For the less patient, there are tried and tested methods of using USB as well as an AC adapter, where a full charge will cause you to wait for at least 4 hours. The device can hold up to 2,000mAh of juice, while a magnet embedded to it allows you to leave it stuck to a metal surface – not too sure how it will affect your data on sensitive devices though. Apart from that, Kiwi Choice threw in a LED flashlight for added functionality. $49.99 will net you the Kiwi Choice U-Powered USB Portable Solar Charger with 11 tips, including one that works with Apple’s dock connector. Sounds pretty handy, and solar’s the definite way to go!
