Due to the complexity of building a robot, every little thing that a robot can do is always a celebrated feat, and we’ve got nothing against that, after all, we do want our robot helpers in the future to do everything that we can do and more. Now AIST’s bipedal humanoid robot, HRP-2 Promet, was able to balance by standing on one foot. Sure, humans have been able to do that since forever, but as we mentioned, it’s one less foot for this robot, and a big step forward for robotkind. What will a robot be able to do next?
