RipCode Helps You Play Flash Videos On The iPad

One of the most common complaints about the iPad (aside from its name) is the lack of Flash. Now a company called RipCode might have an unofficial solution to that, as it has just announced a clientless Flash codec, which allows Flash video play on the iPad. This is done by RipCode’s TransAct Transcoder V6, which transcodes content in the cloud before the content reaches the iPad. Since it’s not an app, it doesn’t even have to go through Apple’s approval process. It’s able to handle video resolutions from QVGA all the way up to 1080p. Formats such as QuickTime, MP4 progressive and MPEG-TS are also supported. Is this going to be everybody’s way of getting Flash to work on the iPad, or do you have a better solution?

Press release.
