NEC LaVie S Gets A Core i5 Processor

NEC has recently announced its LaVie S, where the S stands for Slim. Considering that it’s just 35mm thick, you can feel that the S in its name is more or less justified. It will be going for 150,000 Yen ($1,630), but if you’re on a tight budget, you can always go for the lower specced model with a Celeron P4500 1.86GHz processor at 115,000 Yen ($1,249). Specifications of the higher end model include:

• Intel Core i5-430M (2.26GHz)
• HM55 Express chipset
• 4GB RAM
• 500GB hard drive
• 15.6-inch WXGA LED backlit display
