Whenever someone talks about the tablet device market now, Apple’s iPad is invariably mentioned, and with such a popular device in the market already, you’d think that most manufacturers would be scared to pit a new device against it. That being said, Italian kitchenware manufacturer Alessi obviously thinks that it’s up to the challenge, as it’s planning to bring the AlessiTAB to market come September. The tablet looks quite sleek, designed by Stefano Giovannoni, and will feature social media applications such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as being able to double up as a digital photo frame. It will come bundled with a docking station, which is going to be useful, and boasts a 6-hour battery life. The AlessiTAB will be going for about EUR300 ($400).
