The upcoming PS3 firmware 3.21 will be available this Thursday, which should be good news for PS3 owners, unless you happen to be running Linux on your machine. This is because the update will disable the “Install Other OS” feature, which is available on the PS3 systems prior to the current line of PS3 slim models. The reason for disabling the feature is cited as a security concern, but there are rumblings around the Internet that this could be a method of trying to curb piracy, which is already much rarer on the PS3. Of course, you can always choose to not update your system, but that would mean you won’t be able to connect to PSN, or enjoy any games or movies that require 3.21 or later. With this in mind, are you planning to update to the latest firmware version this Thursday, or are you going to stick with what you’ve currently got?
