Nav 9 tablet shipping soon

Netbook Navigator seemed to have taken a closer look at their Nav 9 tablet, realizing that the initial price point could impact its sales, thus reducing the Nav 9 to $599, which is still $100 more expensive compared to the cheapest Apple iPad, but before you switch your mind off and buy something fruity, check out its specifications. Powered by an Intel Atom N270 1.66GHz processor, the Nav 9 will ship with 2GB RAM, a 16GB SSD, an 8.9″ multitouch display at 1,024 x 600 resolution, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, an SD memory card slot, a SIM card slot, optional 3G connectivity and a trio of USB ports. It seems that the initial batch of Nav 9 tablets had troubles with multitouch display, although a new batch with more responsive displays is on its way. Do you think this will challenge the iPad, or does it occupy a different niche? We see it more as a multitouch netbook instead.
